Show Notes
- The countdown song for this show was "Bye Bye Bye" by NSYNC. After the countdown ended, the band premiered the trailer for the "Linkin Park Unshatter" documentary directed by Joe Hahn, slated for release in theaters in 2026. The trailer features a shortened studio version of the normal "Inception Intro" normally used to start the shows.
- Linkin Park recreated the 2001 show intro at Rock am Ring on the 25th anniversary year of their first performance at the festival and in response to the viral moment of that show opening, performed "With You" for the first time since 2014 and the first time opening since 2012 - and of course, for the first time with Emily, Colin, and Alex. The song appeared on an early version of a setlist at Hamburg, Germany night one but ended up not being played there.
- Emily screamed the classic "Come on" intro over "With You". When she ran out to start the show, she was carrying Mike's microphone for some reason, barely making it to her actual microphone on the mic stand in time for the intro. She then turns and hands Mike his microphone after she screamed the intro.
- Emily and Mike paid homage to the original 2001 performance by starting the show wearing the same color schemes as 2001 (Emily wearing Chester's colors).
- "Somewhere I Belong" was rotated into the second song of Act I, the first time it was performed second since the launch show in September 2024.
- "The Emptiness Machine" was printed on the physical setlist was the "new intro" note, which was crossed off before the show started - this is likely just an error from copy/pasting when the setlist was drafted up.
- Mike extended the gap between the guitar intro of "A Place For My Head" and the first verse to check on a fan in the pit who might've needed help - once he made the crowd give them a little space and were sure they were okay, he launched into the song.
- Mike played the guitar melody of "Pushing Me Away" on his synth during the intro of "Overflow". Emily sang "it's all the same to me" over the intro.
- There was no genre flip-up or jam outro to "Numb".
- Mike spoke to the crowd in German after "Numb": "We are so grateful to be back. Thank you for staying with us all these years. We love Germany and we love you all."
- Emily crowd surfed during the bridge of "Heavy Is The Crown". Mike used his backup guitar for the song, making it the second time the guitar made an appearance.
- Mike rapped verse one of "Reading My Eyes" over the extended bridge of "Bleed It Out".
- The band closed the show with "Faint", making it the first shortened festival set to close with the song (though it did close Lollapalooza Mumbai earlier in the year, that show ended up getting a full-length set). This is perhaps another reference to an old Rock am Ring set, when they closed Rock am Ring 2007 with a legendary performance of the song.
- Fireworks closed the set out as Linkin Park waved goodbye to the crowd.
Other Notes
- This show was announced on June 6, 2025, exactly 21 years to the day of the legendary Linkin Park 2004 show at Rock am Ring. It coincided with day one of Rock am Ring 2025, so before Bring Me the Horizon's headlining set, the festival did a special announcement on the big screens. Along with an accompanying fireworks show, the festival announced Linkin Park would be headlining in 2026. Linkin Park also went live on Instagram just before the announcement to share it with the world. Shortly afterward, Rock im Park posted and confirmed the band would be playing both festivals with a custom announcement video (which Rock am Ring then posted too), followed by Linkin Park confirming both on social media. Mike Shinoda shared the Rock am Ring announcement on Instagram with the following years (the years the band played Rock am Ring): 2001, 2004, 2007, 2012, 2014, and 2026. On day two of the festival, Rock am Ring announced a limited edition Linkin Park shirt with those years on it with a few of the band's logos on it.
- The exact performance date for this show was announced on September 23, 2025, through an announcement by the festival on its official website and social media.
- Linkin Park was announced as performing from 23:00-00:30, a set time of 90 minutes. While they are the last band on the Utopia Stage, a handful of artists perform after them - Limp Bizkit on the Mandora Stage, and Danko Jones and The Butcher Sisters on the Orbit Stage. In April 2026, their set time was extended five minutes, to 95 minutes.
- On Thursday, June 4, Linkin Park announced via their social media that the show would be broadcast on magentamusik.de and Magenta TV.
- Teasers for the Unshatter Movie came in various forms throughout the day beyond the trailer reveal at the start of the show. The website for the movie was featured on the inside of the show-exclusive t-shirts, and the confetti throughout the show was updated to have the link to the website on it as well.
