"Short Interlude" was a live show interlude performed by Linkin Park during the Hybrid Theory touring cycle in 2001. The interlude first appeared on setlists on the Street Soldiers Tour where it was played before "Crawling."
It was one of three interludes in 2001 for the band, along with the "Lee Interlude" and "Falling Down Interlude."
Background
The "Short Interlude" is a twenty second ambient interlude with very light/minimal record scratch sounds. It was before "Crawling" at every show it was played at, including on both 2001 live releases - Fillmore and Rock am Ring. There were no live vocals or sampled vocals on this interlude.

The interlude was played through the band's shows in June 2001 before being dropped.
