Live in São Paulo (placeholder title; actual title TBD) is an upcoming theater airing by Linkin Park of the band's weekend in São Paulo, Brazil on November 15-16, 2024.

Background

Linkin Park's surprise comeback began on September 5, 2024 in Los Angeles before the band traveled what they referred to as "one and a half times around the globe" over the next two months. In total, among a few smaller promotional performances, Linkin Park performed twelve full shows in 2024, with the two shows in Brazil occurring at the end of the November run of shows. In total in November, the band traveled very extensively, starting with a League of Legends Worlds 24 Opening Ceremony in London following half a week of rehearsals for just that event. A stadium show in Paris followed the next day, with a stadium show in Arlington, Texas coming later in the week, before they set off for South America. The first ever Linkin Park show in Colombia occurred in Bogota on November 11, 2024, as one of the first initially announced shows on September 5, 2024 with the band's comeback (Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota).

Being heavily rumored throughout the year, the visit to Brazil was announced on September 24, 2024 alongside the release of new song "Heavy Is The Crown" and joined Paris and Arlington as the third stadium show in the announcement. The day prior, the band shared a teaser on social media of fans at the Papercuts listening parties in Brazil from April 2024 of fans telling the band to come to Brazil, the famous phrase known all across the Internet.

The first show in Sao Paulo sold out within minutes, prompting Linkin Park to add a second night on September 30, 2024 for the following day, November 16. This show also sold out immediately.

Two days before the first show, on November 13, the band announced that night one would be streamed partially online as a "limited live stream": "From Zero World Tour, LIVE in São Paulo. Tune in Friday, November 15th at 3:30pm PST / 8:30pm BRT for a limited live stream. http://lprk.co/SaoPaulo" The show was streamed through the first six songs. Additionally, Multishow said that they would be airing the entire show as an exclusive on both Multishow and Globoplay.

Composition

Setlists for the two shows were similar, but featured a few unique songs. Notably, night one's set was "Set A", which featured "Castle Of Glass" in all of the show intros/interludes - "Inception", "Creation", and "Resolution" - while night two's set was "Set B", which featured "Iridescent" in the intros/interludes.

Night one had the live debut of "Two Faced", a song the band released earlier in the day as a surprise for fans. "Two Faced" was teased by the band as far back as September 2024 in interviews. Emily said at the time, ""Two Faced" is really fun live, as well as "Casualty" and "Overflow." Those three, I think, were the ones we've kinda been talking about... like, really wanting to explore live. I think we're gonna do some rehearsals when we get home and, you know, put it into our live set." Mike in October said, "Right now, it's quite a bit of effort to put a new song into the set. Not just the band working it out, but the production (lasers, lights, content). We're working on adding a new song or two." "Casualty", which was debuted in Texas just before the band's South American trip, remained in the set for both Brazil shows as well as "Over Each Other", which was debuted in Paris the same month. In the end, Linkin Park ended up adding three new songs in the same run of shows to the setlists, more than what Mike said they were working on.

From the new album From Zero, the band had already by the time of the first Brazil show added half of the album (five songs) into the show - "The Emptiness Machine", "Heavy Is The Crown", "Over Each Other", "Casualty", and "Two Faced."

Additionally, in the encore night one, "Lost In The Echo" appeared after "Papercut."

Night two changes included swapping "Lying From You" (performed night one) for "Points Of Authority" in the third spot in the setlist, swapping "My December" (performed night one) for "Friendly Fire" after "Leave Out All The Rest", and swapping "Lost In The Echo" (performed night one) for "A Place For My Head."

While night one was the main filming show, Linkin Park wore the same outfits for both shows, in a deliberate move in case they needed extra shots for songs. Mike Shinoda replied to an LPLive tweet stating, "The band wore the same outfits for both nights in Brazil - likely means they filmed both for the 2025 live film and will splice in audio/shots from both shows!" on November 17 with a brain emoji.

Release

Linkin Park broadcasted the first Act (first six songs) from São Paulo night one on November 15. After "The Emptiness Machine" concluded, an image appeared on the stream saying, "Coming to theaters worldwide in 2025."

There has yet to be an announcement of an exact theater release or a standalone physical release.

The band has precedent with a show being streamed online followed by a theater release, with a physical release afterward. Living Things+ (Live At Admiralspalast Berlin, Germany) was streamed & shown in theaters in 2012 with a 2013 physical release.
