This date came from the old hybridtheory.com website.
According to Jeff Blue's book, the band decided to change their name from Hybrid Theory to "Plear" on May 1, 2000. A few days after May 9, 2000, they changed it again to Linkin Park.
This was one of the first shows the band played with Rob McDermott as their manager. He was pushing them to start playing live in order to build a following.
