The setlists for this tour were brand new, changing from the European Tour in May and June. They debuted two sets, A and B, with the live debuts of Rebellion and Final Masquerade. A surprising addition to Set B was a new, shortened version of [[Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You]], which had not been played live in any form since February 2005 almost ten years prior. Linkin Park's and 30 Seconds To Mars' sets were originally planned to be streamed via Jared Leto's online ticketing service, VyRT. Due to the servers being overwhelmed, the show was moved to Livestream.com for free early on in the night. The show was plagued by technical difficulties, causing 30 Seconds To Mars to shorten their setlist so they could fix the issue. Those who purchased the Linkin Park VIP Package for $40 got access to the crew's soundcheck (Rebellion and Faint) as well as a post-show webcast by the band.

Introduction

The Carnivores Tour in August and September 2014 was Linkin Park's first tour in the United States and Canada since the 2012 Honda Civic Tour two years prior. This tour was composed of 25 shows, the most by Linkin Park in North America since Projekt Revolution 2007's 29 shows, beating out Projekt Revolution 2008's 24 shows by 1.

Opening the tour was 30 Seconds To Mars and AFI.

Before the tour

Several weeks before this show, Linkin Park played in San Diego, CA for the mtvU Fandom Awards at Comic-Con. This performance was a short eight song set and some of the best proshot videos from the touring cycle came from this show.

Summary

The tour visited many of the familiar amphitheatres in North America that Linkin Park usually plays. Other venues included George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, FL, which is a minor league baseball stadium, Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, Canada where Metallica and Linkin Park played on Summer Sanitarium 2003, and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Three shows in Canada took place - Montreal, Toronto, and the band's first show in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The setlists for this tour were brand new, changing from the European Tour in May and June. They debuted two sets, A and B, with the live debuts of Rebellion and Final Masquerade. A surprising addition to Set B was a new, shortened version of Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You, which had not been played live in any form since February 2005 almost ten years prior. It was on a draft setlist for 2008.06.29 Milton Keynes, but was not played at that show or the other show with Jay-Z that year at 2008.02.21 New York City.

The encores for the setlists featured a medley of songs like Europe, but dropped A Light That Never Comes completely. Until It's Gone was shortened and added to the mix, so the band ran through encores with short versions of Lost In The Echo/New Divide/Crawling/Until It's Gone in Set A and Burn It Down/Lost In The Echo/New Divide/Until It's Gone in Set B.

Two more additions were the surprising inclusions of With You and Somewhere I Belong, the latter of which was played for the first time on The Hunting Party's touring cycle.

For the first time, the LP Underground hosted two LPU Summits on one tour. The 10th LPU Summit took place on August 21st in Darien Center, NY and the 11th LPU Summit took place on September 5th in Woodlands, TX. Mike, Chester, and Brad performed Final Masquerade acoustic for LPU members at both shows.

The show on 2014.09.15 at the Hollywood Bowl was webcasted.

Rakim, the guest on Guilty All The Same, scheduled quite a few shows around this tour, leading fans to believe he would join Linkin Park on stage. He had shows nearby the West Palm Beach, Tampa, Holmdel, Wantagh, and Tinley Park shows the day Linkin Park was in town, but he never appeared as a guest.

At the first show of the tour, Chester featured a medical emergency and the band later commented that they almost canceled the show outright. Due to it being sold out, they took the stage 40 minutes after their set time and performed a very shortened setlist. The next night in Tampa, 30 Seconds To Mars's soundcheck ran over time and pushed the show schedule back and Linkin Park made the early decision to pay the local sound ordinance fine so that they could perform their full show setlist over curfew.

Live Debuts

Memorable Moments

At 2014.09.09, Mike accidentally rapped the demo lyrics from the first verse of Wastelands over the outro of Runaway. After confirming the lyrics with him, the alternate lyrics were: "And yeah I'm not afraid of that This is underrated rap Take it back to Raiders caps Like 1988 is back N.W.A. in fact Cock it back & spray the track Slay 'em, leave 'em laying on the pavement Bang, fade to black"

On 2014.09.15 at the Hollywood Bowl, Daron Malakian from System Of A Down played guitar for Rebellion with the band and Austin Carlile from Of Mice & Men (who toured with LP later that year) joined Linkin Park for Faint.

Rehearsals

Production rehearsal

For the second straight North American Tour, Linkin Park invited fans to the production rehearsal before the first show of the tour. On 2014.08.06, around 20 LPU winners along with other radio winners were invited to West Palm Beach, FL to watch the band rehearse the first half of the Set A setlist for the tour. Fans were also treated to a Meet & Greet as a surprise.
