Background

On January 7, 2022, Mike created a freestyle track on Twitch with the working title "Cathedral."

Release

On February 1, 2022, Mike a piece of music as part of his collaborative NFT with graphic designer Luis Nunez (aka MLNDR). The piece, titled "Malandro 176 - Cathedral (Mike Shinoda x MLNDR)", is a part of Nunez' Los Malandros collection. The 3D piece features doodles created by Mike Shinoda and uses 56 seconds of "Cathedral."

The official description says, "Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park / Fort Minor / Ziggurats) joins forces with Los Malandros' creator MLNDR on this highly anticipated collaboration titled "Cathedral." The artwork includes a visually stunning animation set in a dystopian future, featuring Mike's signature Doodles and a soundtrack custom-produced by him for the piece. Includes a digital frame and international delivery."

Similar to "One Hundredth Stream", another song Mike made via streaming, he only released a clip of the full track - this time just 56 seconds of "Cathedral." The full track he made on Twitch clocks in at 3:06.
