"Mike's Gonna Mike" is the seventh track on the album Dropped Frames, Vol. 3 by Mike Shinoda.

Background

He revelead the title during the August 12, 2020 stream, when he was creating a theme for GamesCom, "We sent them some of my jams, from this channel. The ones they liked are what I ended up call these james, "Dust Code" and... There is one where, during the stream, I said something to the effect of like, 'This falls under the category of Mike's gonna Mike', like you guys had asked me to do something and then I kinda just turned it into my own thing, it sounded like Linkin Park. I called that one "Mike's Gonna Mike". And they liked those, they were like, 'Ok, do something like these!', and I was like, 'Ok, sounds great, I'll make a new thing from scratch!'"[1]

During the September 18, 2020 Twitch stream Mike talked again about the meaning of the title, saying, "The reason I called this track that is because it was supposed to be... Nirvana, oh my God! "Tools Of The Trade", Nirvana, Giorgio Moroder and Italian Neomelodic... I nailed it! Wow, not so much! I really just went my own direction with it, I knew that whatever it was I named it that because I really just was like, 'Yeah, I'll just gonna do my own!'"
