- Linkin Park made a surprise appearance at the party and played three songs. The event was a pre-VMA promo party for Halo 3 - hundreds of people were in the crowd, including many celebrities.
- On Monday, September 24th, Spike TV’s “Game Head” videogame show hosted a live feed from the “Halo 3” launch event at Best Buy’s flagship store in New York City. After midnight, a half-hour special “Halo 3: Launched!” was aired featuring a performance by Linkin Park and interviews with “Halo” fans.
- A short proshot clip of the end of "One Step Closer" was shown on MTV.
