Background
Linkin Park began touring for their From Zero album in September 2024 immediately after their surprising return to the world with a new lineup featuring Emily Armstrong, Colin Brittain, and live member Alex Feder. The tour took them across the world in fall 2024, all of 2025, and the first half of 2026, concluding in Switzerland in June 2026.
While on tour for the album, the band wrote and recorded off-and-on again at Mike's home studio, referred to as The Stockroom, in Los Angeles, as well as at studios across the world.
Writing and Recording
In September 2026 while promoting the new Unshatter movie, Joe gave several interviews that said Linkin Park was recording new music after a short break following the conclusion of the From Zero World Tour.
Joe commented, "...We really enjoy being around each other, and we especially love the creation side of things and making music. When we were touring in different cities, if there was a day off, we would go into studios just to tinker around with stuff. And when we finished touring, we decided to take a month off because we needed a break, but then we jumped right back into the studio."
In another interview, he said, "We’re now writing music again. There’s no timetable, but I think there’s an urgency. We know we can work fast, ’cause we’re so excited to output a lot, so it’s not going to be another five years or a long time before we come out with something new. At the same time we’ve been so in your face a lot with (From Zero) that it’ll be nice to give people a little bit of a break and then reconvene and come up with something really great."[1]
Known studio appearances in the Linkin Park fanbase include Mike, Joe, Colin, and Dave in a now-deleted Instagram post from Mexico City in late 2025, Emily posting an Instagram story on Mike's birthday (February 11, 2026) in Mike's home studio with Brad, and then Colin in the studio in Munich in June 2026.
