Live in Las Vegas is a live concert included on the 2024 reissue of the Dead By Sunrise album Out Of Ashes as tracks 14 through 18. This is the first full show by the band to be released, but it is not its own standalone release.
Background
After performing a one-off acoustic song, "Let Down", for the first time in 2005 for a Hurricane Katrina benefit and a three song performance for Club Tattoo's 13th Anniversary in 2008, Chester Bennington officially kicked off the Dead By Sunrise era on July 4, 2009 with an acoustic set at the Steve Wyrick Theater.
After this performance, the band headed to Europe and Asia where they played in the Linkin Park encore with three songs and then kicked off their promotional shows for the album in October across the world.
The Las Vegas show was announced on June 10, 2009 on Linkin Park and Chester Bennington's pages: "Club Tattoo is opening a brand new store in Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood's Miracle Mile Shops. The show is set for July 4th and will feature an acoustic set performed by Chester and his friends from Julien-K. The Linkin Park Street Team is wanting to get the word out about the opening of the parlor, so they've set a deal up for some fans."[1]
Composition
Chester introduced "In The Darkness" by saying, "It's about making love and feeling passion. It was a new endeavor for me for this album to write love songs, because most songs I am used to writing about are pretty dark and angst-ridden. It's been an adventure."
Release
The Out Of Ashes vinyl was announced on February 15, 2024 for a release date of April 20, 2024.
