Background
"Technique" was a song written by Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn. The track was build around strings and bells from both Giacomo Puccini's Madama Butterfly, Act II: "Un bel dì vedremo" and "Three Coins In The Fountain", the fifth track on Rendezvous In Rome by The Melachrino Strings And Orchestra.[1] The latter gave origin to the song's project name: "Rendezvo".
The "Short" on the title implies that there was a longer version of this instrumental at some point. Part of this longer version can be heard on the LP Underground 7 exclusive video "Glorious Excess Born".
A full-length demo of the song was leaked in June 2019, but it is different from the version in the LPU video, being only the beat without live instrumentation. Coming in around two and a half minutes, it says the line "you must exercise the proper technique" over and over throughout the demo. There is a sample of an unknown origin in the track that says "molba sekiya."
