Background

In 2005, Mike Shinoda and Lil Jon were asked to score that year's MTV Video Music Awards. Mike commented, "The challenge was that they needed variety. I did 10 tracks, a couple of them a lot of Linkin Park fans will recognise the sound, while others are different, all the way down to some really stripped-down hip-hop sounds. And within each piece, there are different parts."[1] They did not collaborate on any track.[2]

"Catharsis" and "Teletronic" were aired on the MTV VMA's, but not released by MTV.com as a part of "The Leak" at the time.LPLive: Mike's VMA Score TV Music, May 26, 2020</ref>

In response to fans who started asking for the full score in early 2010, the tracks were uploaded to Mike Shinoda's SoundCloud page and made available for free download. "Teletronic" was among them.
