Template:Song "There They Go" is the thirteenth track on Fort Minor's We Major mixtape. It was also released on the special edition and the tour edition of The Rising Tied.
Background
In late 2006, Clear Channel Music posted the entire The Rising Tied album complete with commentaries from Mike Shinoda before each song.[1] On "There They Go", he said, "‘There They Go’ was one of those songs, that I just wanted to make something that was aggressive. My friend Sixx John, he’s an artist out of LA, he’s… he’s one of those guys, who just ghostwrites for other people. You probably heard his verses before, but he didn’t rap them – he wrote them for somebody else. And he… I think he offered to ghost write mine, at some point and… like in… you know, he said, like: “No offense, but I really would love to do it, cause It would be fun.” And I had to tell him no, cause I don’t.. I just don’t believe in that for myself. I was gonna write my own stuff. Anyway, that’s neither here, nor there. Sixx, he’s a great lyricist, he’s a lot of fun and uhm, you know, he did his thing on this track."
The version of "There They Go" on We Major is branded as a "Green Lantern Remix" because it contains heavy editing by DJ Green Lantern. Mike's first verse contains several rewinds and Sixx John's verse is over the instrumental mashup of "Stay Fly" by Three Six Mafia and "Is That Your Bitch?" by Jay-Z. At the end of the song, "Encore" by Jay-Z is also sampled. Mike shouts out Machine Shop at the beginning of the track, as they are also shouted out on the countdown intro that he does. The end of the song features a transition to "All Night".
On December 5, 2005, DJ Green Lantern released the We Major EP "street" release on vinyl which contains full versions of "Spraypaint & Inkpens", "Nobody's Listening (Green Remix)", "S.C.O.M.", and "There They Go (Green Remix)" in explicit and clean versions.
"There They Go" has become a fan-favorite Fort Minor song by Linkin Park fans as Mike routinely would rap part of the song over "Points Of Authority" from Hybrid Theory when touring.
On the Styles of Beyond mixtape Razor Tag from 2007, the second song, also called "Razor Tag", is 43 seconds long and is composed mostly of "There They Go" samples. Samples of Sixx John saying "oh no" and "start the show", Mike saying "S.O.B." and "Ryu, Tak, Vin Skully", "Cheapshot and now you see", and "fuck with me" are included in the song. The mixtape was put together by DJ Green Lantern, like We Major. On the same Razor Tag mixtape, the song "Journey" samples "There They Go" as well for its beat.
Remix
"There They Go" was remixed by DJ Green Lantern for inclusion in the We Major mixtape and was later included on his We Major EP in December 2005.

Live
"There They Go" saw its live debut at the same time as Fort Minor did - it was performed at the group's first show, where it debuted near the end of the set at their debut appearance in at Pukklepop 2005. The song was commonly performed near the end of the set, moving into the encore during the U.S. Tour in 2006. It was performed in the encore for all of 2006 (though it's uncertain if the song was performed at Summer Sonic).
Throughout the Minutes To Midnight touring cycle, "There They Go" occasionally made appearances during the extended outro of "Points Of Authority", first appearing during the 2008 North American Tour stop in Montreal, Québec. The song made more appearances as the outro until "Points Of Authority" and its extensions were dropped after 2009.
In April 2015, Mike took part in a jam session with Troy Resq, Austin Carlile, Johnny Christ, Synyster Gates and M. Shadows at Coachella Festival's ResqHouse, during which he rapped verses of "There They Go".
"There They Go" did not return consistently during Fort Minor's 2015 "Welcome" comeback, but it was performed by request at Fort Minor's last show of the 2015 European Tour, in London, England. The intro, part of verse one, and then a reprise of the intro was rapped over the Funk Rebel Break Instrumental Mike had acquired for the "High Voltage" remix. Despite it not appearing on the live poll that Mike had set up for which songs fans wanted to hear at the shows, Mike said at the show that it was highly requested for a place on the setlist. A brief version of "A Place For My Head" was also played over the beat.
