Template:Infobox song "100 Degrees" is the first full song on Fort Minor's We Major mixtape.
Background
"100 Degrees" is a track originally released by MTV as a part of Mike Shinoda's MTV VMA 2005 Score.
In 2005, Mike Shinoda and Lil Jon were asked to score that year's MTV Video Music Awards. Mike commented, "The challenge was that they needed variety. I did 10 tracks, a couple of them a lot of Linkin Park fans will recognise the sound, while others are different, all the way down to some really stripped-down hip-hop sounds. And within each piece, there are different parts."[1] They did not collaborate on any track.[2]
Short ringtones of five of Mike's songs were posted on MTV.com's "The Leak" for fans to download, and "100 Degrees" was one of them.[3][4]
In response to fans who started asking for the full score in early 2010, the tracks were uploaded to Mike Shinoda's SoundCloud page and made available for free download. However, the first track was labeled "Hive" instead of "100 Degrees". It is believed that the track was mislabeled and that the real "Hive" remains unreleased.
"100 Degrees" eventually became a full song with vocals and was released on Fort Minor's We Major mixtape in October 2005 as the first song. The version of the song on We Major features a rewind edit of the first verse by DJ Green Lantern, who hosted the mixtape.
As We Major was released to build hype for The Rising Tied, Mike starts off the song by saying, "Ladies and gentlemen I would like to welcome you to a Fort Minor event. The countdown has begun. The Rising Tied is almost here, but for now..."

Lyrics
Yo!
We ready to do this? (Get up, get up, get up, get up)
C'mon, lets go!
This is an invasion, the evil genius Green Lantern,
(Ok)
Mike Shinoda!
Okay! Ladies and gentleman I would like to welcome you to a Fort Minor Event,
(Uh huh, uh huh)
The countdown has begun,
(That's right)
The Rising Tied is almost here, but for now? (C'mon Mike!)
Come on ya'll...
Yo.
Let's get it goin' for the every man, anybody,
You gotta be ready its heavy when we get it rowdy,
We wont apologize, or even think of sayin' sorry,
This is the way we rock steady
Yo.
Let's get it goin' for the every man, anybody,
You gotta be ready its heavy when we get it rowdy,
We wont apologize, or even think of sayin' sorry,
This is the way we rock steady over everybody
You're probably shocked, probably ready to stop this already,
You probably can't hang with the way we attackin so steady,
We let it rock the rover, bang the benz, shake the chevy,
Till everybody feels it in their chest, say it with me!
This is the time so just follow me,
It's already heated to a 100 degrees,
So get up! (Get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up)
Wait a second!
You know the program, this is not a slow jam,
This is not a love song, unless you love tearin shit down!
Take a look around you're not runnin' this,
You're bluffin', you're nothin', we'll hit you like a ton of bricks,
Hit you together with pressure you could never stand,
The softest leather, just a featherweight, whatever man,
We're not your competitor, setting you straight,
You'll never compete, forget it, it's already too late...
Go!
This is the time so just follow me,
It's already heated to a 100 degrees,
So get up! (Get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up)
Yo,
If you don't see,
I'ma make you see this,
If you dont know,
I'ma make you believe it,
(Get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up)
Shhh...
Give me a second I'm collectin' my thoughts and setting plots...
Alright ya'll ready or not!
I've listened and watched, and waited for an opening spot,
And now that I've got it, nobody can pay me to stop,
I'm sick of that!
Same thing I've been forced to hear,
Over and over again let me make this clear,
If anybody pretends that we're nothing to fear,
I solemnly swear its over you can tell em' we're here!
This is the time so just follow me,
It's already heated to a 100 degrees,
So get up! (Get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up)
Yo,
If you don't see,
I'ma make you see this,
If you don't know,
I'ma make you believe it,
(Get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up)
Everybody owes, everybody pays
Because...
