Background
"Gold Guns Girls" is the fourth single from Canadian rock group Metric's fourth studio album Fantasies. The lyrics were inspired by the 1983 movie, Scarface as explained by frontwoman Emily Haines, "When Jimmy sent me this song as a rough sketch I listened to it over and over while watching Scarface, dreaming up ideas. The lyrics I wrote look at greed in all its forms, and the fact that we seem programmed to be insatiable. If we could do a million dollar video for this song it would be a remake of that montage scene from Scarface - including the tiger!"[1]
Mike Shinoda is a fan of Metric and when he first heard "Gold Guns Girls" he thought it would be a perfect theme song for his Glorious Excess (Dies) art show, so he contacted the band and asked to remix the song. The remix was released for free download on Mike's personal blog on August 30, 2009, the day after the Glorious Excess (Dies) opening. Mike also announced the remix would soon be officially released by Metric.[2] The remix was added to the tracklist of the original Download To Donate album on February 13, 2010 as track number 12.[3] It was also released as part of the Australian exclusive expanded edition of Metric's Fantasies album in January 2011 (the CDs were pressed in 2010 though).[4]

Lyrics
Ooh
Gold [x13]
Girls [x17]
All the gold and the guns in the world
(Couldn't get you off)
All the gold and the guns and the girls
(Couldn't get you off)
All the boys, All the choices in the world
I remember when we were gambling to win
Everybody else said, "Better luck next time."
I don't wanna bend, Let the bad girls bend
I just wanna be your friend
Is it ever gonna be enough?
Girls [x6]
Is it ever gonna be enough? (Girls [x2])
Girls
Is it ever gonna be enough? (Girls [x2])
Girls
Is it ever gonna be enough? (Girls [x2])
Girls [x6]
Is it ever gonna be enough? (Girls [x2])
Girls
Is it ever gonna be enough? (Girls [x2])
Girls
Is it ever gonna be enough? (Girls [x2])
All the lace and the skin in the shop
(Couldn't get you off)
All the toys and the tools in the box
(Couldn't get you off)
All the noise, all the voices never stop
I remember when we were gambling to win
Everybody else said, "Better luck next time."
I don't wanna bend, Let the bad girls bend
I just wanna be your friend
Why you givin' me a hard time?
I remember when we were gambling to win
Everybody else said, "HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!"
Girls [x6]
Is it ever gonna be enough? (Girls [x2])
