Background
"[Stef]" is a voicemail left on Mike Shinoda's answering machine by Stephen Carpenter of Deftones, who played guitar on "By_Myslf". The recording was used as an interlude on Reanimation.
Music Video
The music video for "[Stef]" was directed by Joe Hahn[1] for MTV2's "MTV:Playback" and features a girl sleeping in her bed while the voice message by Stephen Carpenter is played.
MTV: Playback was originally aired on July 27, 2002 at 2:00pm, with a rerun on July 28, 2002 at 8:00pm.[2]
