"Clockwatch" is a single by AmirSaysNothing with production by Mike Shinoda. The song was originally scheduled for a January 2nd, 2020 release at 12am EST but due to a mistake it was only released on the 3rd.[1][2]

Background

AmirSaysNothing played as a support act on Mike Shinoda's Outbreak Tour in 2018. In February 2019 they got together to work on new music.[3] A January 2nd release for the collaboration was announced on December 29, 2019.[4] The title of the track, along with artwork and a snippet, was revealed the following day.[5][6] "Clockwatch", produced by Mike Shinoda, is one of two clock themed songs released on the same day, the other being titled "The Times", produced by Wyatt Stromer. Artwork for the tracks was based on photographies by Khalilah Pianta[5] and it revealed a February 23 release date for Amir's debut album, which also happens to be his birthday.[7][8][9][10] However, the album wasn't released on this date as he was still working on the final details.[11][12][13]

Through Twitter, Amir thanked Linkin Park fans for their support. "just wanna send some love out to all the Linkin Park fans who have been showing love and are hyped on this music. i love your energy and i can feel everyone of you. thank you for checking me out and hopefully you find you like me and are in for the long haul. #BIGLOVE"[14]

To promote "Clockwatch", Amir and Mike signed the clock used on the cover and did a giveaway. The winner was a fan named Nicole from Massachusetts.[15]

A second song produced by Mike Shinoda will be in the album[16][17] and had a music video shot on January 5 with director Dylan Park.[18][19] On July 28, Amir announced he received the final mix of his album, Endless Brightside.[20] According to him, the album was started in late 2018 and should have been out by July 2020.[21][22] He blamed the coronavirus pandemic for the delay[23] and reiterated the second song produced by Mike would be coming out on the album along with the music video.[24] He teased it on August 3 with a screenshot of the video and said, "all the Linkin Park fans gonna love this, produced by Mike Shinoda and it ain’t Clockwatch ;)."[25]

Where’d we go?
Been a while I know
What if i don’t show
Maybe i don’t know
Where’d we go?
Been a while I know
Where, did
We, we
Go

It’s a blessing, alright
Living stress in a life
It’s a mess that i right
Wanna rest for the night
But the clock just laughs up in my face
Run against myself to win a race
My demons give my lip a taste
Wonder if it all end up a waste
And I know when I’m feeling insecure
Head first when i break another door
Bumped my head some time ago, I’m sure
Can’t pick me up like I’m the floor
Transparent seas, I’ve seen before
Each wave like a diamond and its pure
Storm come and it crashing me to shore
Please miss can I have a little more?
But the clocks like

Where’d we go?
Been a while I know (and the clock like)
What if i don’t show
Maybe i don’t know (and the clock like)
Where’d we go?
Been a while I know
Where, did
We, we
Go

Exhaust the feel, Trying to be so real
Make a mess try and hide, conceal
Scarred up, how the fuck I heal
Been some years, but it’s up from here
Find a fear? when I’m trying sincere
Can’t ya hear? the buzz in my ear
Somethings gone that always keeps me on
Last sip when I’m at the pond
Never think i maybe i stay too long
Even gone are of my friends of long
Miss when all was just sing alongs
Loved em all, wish we'd got along
Wish the good time kept going on
But the play must play, show is on
Advice to me is always “write a song”
But that don’t stop my clock going on, gone

Where’d we go?
Been a while I know (and the clock like)
What if i don’t show
Maybe i don’t know (and the clock like)
Where’d we go?
Been a while I know
Where, did
We, we
Go

Where’d we go?
Been a while I know (and the clock like)
What if i don’t show
Maybe i don’t know (and the clock like)
Where’d we go?
Been a while I know
Where, did
We, we
Go

Where’d we go?
Been a while I know (and the clock like)
What if i don’t show
Maybe i don’t know (and the clock like)
Where’d we go?
Been a while I know
Where, did
We, we
Go

Where’d we go?
Been a while I know (and the clock like)
What if i don’t show
Maybe i don’t know (and the clock like)
Where’d we go?
Been a while I know
Where, did
We, we
Go

Where’d we go?
Been a while I know (and the clock like)
What if i don’t show
Maybe i don’t know (and the clock like)
Where’d we go?

Where, did
We, we
Go

I'm at the stop light
