"The Endless Highway" was written when the band was still called Gray Daze and had Steve Mitchell as their guitarist.

The song was written before the Wake Me sessions and wasn't considered for the album. There's no known studio recording of the song.

A live recording of the song from Grey Daze's ("Gray Daze" at the time) debut show was obtained by LPLive member LESTAT from Jonathan Krause in July 2015 and released for free download.[1]
