The Already Over Sessions are a series of performances in late 2023 that Mike Shinoda did globally to promote his song "Already Over."
Background
In September 2023, Mike Shinoda visited Australia to speak at the Bigsound 2023 music conference. While in Australia, unknown to fans, he also visited a local studio to record a live version of "Already Over" and a Linkin Park song, "Bleed It Out" with local musicians. Titled "Episode 1", this became a series that Mike did around the world with local musicians to perform his new song along with a Linkin Park track. The performances were done in local recording studios in the cities he visited.
With the release of "Already Over" on October 6, Mike teased upcoming performances, saying, "I want with this release, not just the song but live – I'm planning the next steps that come after this – and some of them are going to be a little unusual. So, what I'd say to fans is to trust me and follow along, and we're gonna do some fun things.”[1]
As of December 6, Mike had visited Sydney, Los Angeles, Berlin, London, and Tokyo.
Sydney - September 6, 2023
Songs performed in Sydney included "Already Over" and "Bleed It Out." Mike said, "In making "Already Over," I wrote and played all the instruments myself. But to play it live, I loved the idea of playing with a range of talented musicians who were all "locals." While I was in Sydney, I managed to put together a session with a group of talented Aussies. This is the first and only time we all played together." This performance was released on October 19, 2023 on YouTube followed by a digital release of "Already Over."
