Us-You is the debut EP by Hellflower released in 2012 through Cult 45 Media. Chester Bennington acted as executive producer for the project.
Background
Hellflower was a band led by Church featuring Stephen Perkins of Jane's Addiction on drums, former Orgy bassist Paige Haley on bass and Cody Bryan on guitar.
The EP was originally scheduled for release in 2011 with 4 tracks, but was only released in the following year with only 3 tracks. The title US-YOU was taken from a private collection art piece dating back to the 1700's. The cover art was shot by legendary photographer Edward C Colver.[1] The song "Violent Violet" was released as the lead single from the EP and received a music video.
Each of the songs from the EP were available for free download over six weeks exclusively in Shapemix's Unlocked Music platform. Visitors to Hellflower's Facebook page could preview the songs and each individual track from the song, and then remix the songs on Shapemix's free app on any iOS device. Each winner received a limited edition art piece featuring artwork from the EP signed by the members of the band and Chester Bennington. The grand prize was a Hellflower snow board by Signal Snowboards.[2]
After releasing the EP, the band had plans to record an album at American Voodoo Studios[3] and Church started working with Reaper's Forge on his own reality television show called Mayor Of The World having Chester Bennington and Trip Taylor as executive producers.[4] None of the projects ever materialized.
Besides the tracks on the EP, demos titled "Life", "Toss" and "Soul Of A Clown" were released online.
