Background
"Grudgematch" was a demo recorded during the A Thousand Suns sessions.
Samples of the song were released on December 10, 2012 as part of Stagelight: Linkin Park Edition.
The full demo was released on February 16, 2016 as a downloadable bonus track of the LP Underground 15 CD. An LPU exclusive video about the song was released on the same day. On the video, Mike said: "It was during the time of A Thousand Suns, which was the album we were making. We're further along in the process. And we were still writing things to kind of fill in the album. We also were looking at news and looking at things that were going on in the world and I think there was already stuff about nuclear war on the album, like we were already starting to put those elements in there, but there wasn't yet the conflict down like the real like aggressive element. A Thousand Suns ended up being Wretches And Kings and When They Come For Me, those were probably the two that were the most about being on that type of scenario. But before those came about we were experimenting with the song Grudgematch. Maybe you can think of like militias in third world countries. Those stories in the news were kind of things that were inspiring us at the time, like to write a song to represent those on the album."

Lyrics
And it goes like bang and they're off and running
Looking around like someone do something
Stop fronting, don't matter I come gunning
So little time to squeeze all this fun in
Humming, coming at ya now
Stupid enough to stand, we'll back ya down like
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
What? No, it can't be stopped
Break out your little riot gear, call the cops
Call the SWAT team, gimme all you got
The finger ready on the trigger and we're calling the shots
So, y'all really gonna brawl or not
My best bet's you're probably gonna stall or stop
Got caught doing rocks, opportunity blocked
And when I sit back, I'll put a hole in your shot
So hah, we don't huff and puff
We'll turn your home and your stuff to a gust of dust
But I'm back til you act like enough's enough
Say a peep and I'll promise we'll fuck you up
Skip the left for the sake of the family
I don't have to say a word, y'all understand me
Stand up and put your back down flat
And we'll keep it like, like, like that
