Template:Infobox song "Green Lantern Intro" is the first track on Fort Minor's We Major mixtape.

Background

"Green Lantern Intro" serves as the introduction to Fort Minor's mixtape We Major, presented by DJ Green Lantern. The first thing heard on the track is a voicemail by Jay-Z talking to Mike, which ends with, "man, what else can I tell you people? let's do it."

An article published by MTV on October 24, 2005 reads, "The bond between Jay-Z and Linkin Park is not just a monetary alliance. They are real cool. So when the group's MC, Mike Shinoda, needed a drop from Young Hov for his mixtape, all he had to do was send a text message. "I hit him with a text, 'Man, can you give me something for the mixtape?' Next thing I know, I checked my phone [and Jay sent a drop].""

In the same article, Shinoda explained how he and Green Lantern started to work together on the mixtape: "I first met Green when we were out on tour, just hanging out; this was pre-Collision Course. He hit me with a couple of his Shady [Records] mixtapes and I was like, 'Thanks man, I got the first one and I've wanted to get these.' We swapped numbers and he was the first person I called. He did a real good job."

The rest of the track is composed of a bunch of samples over a simple beat. The track samples "Mic Check" by Juelz Santana, "Victory" by Puff Daddy, "Feel The Beat" by LL Cool J, "Crazy In Love (feat. Jay-Z)" by Beyoncé, "Put You On The Game" by The Game, "Knockout (Intro)" by Rahzel, "Real Hip Hop" by Das EFX, "Shook Ones (Part II)" by Mobb Deep, and Michael Buffer's catchphrase "let's get ready to rumble!".

Fort Minor: We Major,
Ladies, gentlemen remember the name
Let me say it again,
Fort Minor: We Major ,
You are not ready (yeah),
Cause this ride is about to begin,
Sit down and buckle it in,
For those of you that want to know what we're all about,
The real hip hop (yeah)
How you doin' y'all?
My name's Mike Shinoda,
Fort Minor, Green Lantern,
Internationally known and respected,
Machine Shop rockin' when we step inside,
How you doin' y'all?
My name's Mike,
Sick with a BIC pen all up in your shit man,
Yeah you can either comprehend it, or compliment it it's all authentic (yup!),
Raw nights I perform like Mike,
I'm fooling with the new shit, I'm doing it all night,
Raw nights I perform like Mike,
I can quit and get it back like I'm riding a bike,
Wait up a sec give me space to move,
Room to prove I'm stupid with the P's and Q's,
See..M. Shinoda,
