"Cumulus" is an instrumental demo recorded in 2002 during the Meteora sessions and released on the LP Underground XIII CD. On the booklet, Mike Shinoda wrote: "We tried many times to make this song work, but it always seemed too poppy for the album(s) we were currently working on."

Another song worked on for both Hybrid Theory and Meteora, but didn't make the cut for either album is "Attached".
