"Bittersweet" is a song by Chris Kelly that was produced by Mike Shinoda as a part of his ShinodaProduceMe initiative. Chris Kelly is one half of the pop duo Velavox from Vancouver, BC.

Background

Chris Kelly was the lead singer for the Montreal-based Linkin Park tribute band Projekt Revolution from its conception in 2016 until September 2017, when he moved to Vancouver.[1][2] There, he started the pop duo Kelly & Gibson (now Velavox) with Nicole Gibson.[3] Thanks to their performance of "Crossing A Line", they were able to meet Mike Shinoda when he did a reaction video of the cover for MTV TRL in 2018 as part of their Critique My Cover series.[4]

The original version of "Bittersweet" was released in November 2020 as part of Kelly's New Beginnings solo EP.[5] On January 13, 2021, he announced the song had been picked by Mike Shinoda to kick off the ShinodaProduceMe initiative.[6] The track was produced the following day live on Twitch by Shinoda.
