Background

"Dark Crystal" was released on November 21, 2016 as part of the LP Underground Sixteen CD with the note "2015 Demo", but a sample of the song (at a different speed) had previously been released in 2014 as part of Stagelight's "Linkin Park Bundle II". The sample can be found in the "Mixed Loops" folder under the name "BASSARP A2".

In December 2019, Mike, Phoenix and Joe filmed promotional videos for the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4-Door Coupés in Los Angeles.[1] A total of four videos were uploaded by Mercedes-AMG and each individual band member to social media in February 2020, all of them featuring LP Underground music. The video posted by Mike used "Dark Crystal".[2]
