Background

The remix was created by Kutmasta Kurt. Motion Man guests with a rap verse on the track.

In an interview to MTV, Kutmasta Kurt talked about how he chose "In The End" to remix: "I just decided, ‘OK, I don’t know a lot about rock, but let me turn on KROQ while driving around L.A., where you spend a lot of time in your car. I kept hearing the song ‘In the End,’ and I was like, ‘OK, that’s the song I want to do. Hands down, that’s the one I want to do.’"[1] He said Linkin Park is one of his favorite people he has ever worked with, "I think working with Linkin Park has been enlightening as well. Mainly b/c Mike Shinoda in particular is a cool person. When I say cool I mean down to earth, humble and basically everything most rappers aren't. I mean I know guys who've sold 2 or 3 hundred thousand albums and are 100 times more arrogant, while Linkin Park has sold 10's of Millions yet they know how to work with people properly."[2]

About his verses, Motion Man told LP Underground members: "Naw, I wrote it, I took Mike's first four bars and gave it my own rendition. Then, I extrapolated eight bars of my own."

Around the same time the remix was recorded, Mike Shinoda also collaborated with Kutmasta Kurt and Motion Man in an original song called "Standing In The Middle".

Music Video

The music video for "Enth E Nd" was directed by Jason Goldwatch for MTV2's "MTV:Playback". It shows Mike Shinoda, Motion Man (dressed as Spiderman), and Kutmasta Kurt performing the remix while riding a limousine with cameras and lights around Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles.

When asked about his favorite experience with a band member, Motion Man said it was "Telling Mike not to sit on that brick wall with millions of roaches out on the avenue."

MTV: Playback was originally aired on July 27, 2002 at 2:00pm, with a rerun on July 28, 2002 at 8:00pm.[3]

Live

While Linkin Park has never performed the song, Fort Minor consistently played "Enth E Nd" from 2005-2006. It was debuted at the 2005 Pukkelpop performance after "It's Goin' Down". Motion Man's verse on the song was always cut from the live performances. Chester joined Fort Minor for this song, the only song he's done so on besides "Where'd You Go", at the MySpace 2nd Anniversary Party and at the Club Tattoo 11th Anniversary. Once Fort Minor went on hiatus, "Enth E Nd" was dropped, and never played again.

Mike rapped the first verse of the song in lieu of the second verse of "In The End" during his show in Manila on his solo tour.
