Reanimation is the first remix album by American rock band Linkin Park. It was released on July 30, 2002 via Warner Bros. Records. The record consists mainly of remixed versions of songs found on the band's debut album Hybrid Theory. The album generated two promotional singles: "Pts.Of.Athrty" and "H! Vltg3". The record features several guests, as well as new parts to songs and a further emphasis on the electronic side of the band.
Background
Reanimation is the first of Linkin Park's remix albums. Featured on the record are remixed versions of songs found on Hybrid Theory - including B-sides - and a few interlude tracks. Some tracks include new parts and different lyrics. The record features many collaborations, every song featuring a different artist. The only tracks the band remixed themselves are "Wth>You" and "Kyur 4 Th Ich", both remixed by Joe Hahn. There was not necessarily a specific set of studio time the band gave to this record; instead, the band began working on sending out remixes to different artists during their 2001 tours for Hybrid Theory, recording new parts at the back of their tour bus. Mike Shinoda and Mr. Hahn took the reigns on the production of this record instead of going with a traditional producer.
