The South American Tour in May 2017 is Linkin Park's first visit to South America since October 2014, when the band headlined Circuito Banco do Brasil in Belo Horizonte and Brasília, Brazil.  
The South American Tour in May 2017 is Linkin Park's first announced tour for their upcoming album, due out May 19, 2017. It's the first Linkin Park visit to South America since October 2014, when the band headlined Circuito Banco do Brasil in Belo Horizonte and Brasília, Brazil.
 
The tour is composed of two festival shows and two headlining shows. At the start and end of the tour, Linkin Park will play Maximus Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina and São Paulo, Brazil, respectively. The last visits by Linkin Park to Argentina and to the city of São Paulo both came on the Living Things touring cycle in October 2012.
 
In between these festival shows, they will visit Santiago, Chile for the first time since 2010 on the A Thousand Suns World Tour. In Santiago, LP will headline Movistar Arena, their first arena show in South America outside of Brazil. Next, they will play their first show ever in Peru, headlining Lima's Estadio Nacional. The stadium show sold out in a matter of days.


So far, the announced shows are for Maximus Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina and São Paulo, Brazil. The last visits by Linkin Park to Argentina and to the city of São Paulo both came on the Living Things touring cycle in October 2012.
This marks the largest South American Tour since October 2012 when Linkin Park played five shows in Argentina and Brazil, but the most countries played by LP, four, in South America ever.
