On the LPU exclusive video "Track By Track With Brad - 1", released on January 23, 2015, Brad Delson said: "Ok, so this one is called "Malathion+Tritonus". This is a demo from 2008 that was made in Berlin and one the things that was cool about A Thousand Suns is although we wind up recording many of the principal instruments at NRG here in southern California, we worked in a number of different studios around the world. I think Mike worked in a studio in Prague one day, like in the country side. This one was recorded, this demo was partly recorded in Berlin. And just starting to move around different studios gave the album A Thousand Suns a really collective vibe."

On Linkin Park's European Tour in June 2008, the band used days off between shows to record music at two different locations in Europe. One was Sono Records Studio in Nouzov, Czech Republic and the other was Tritonus in Berlin, Germany, both of which are mentioned in the A Thousand Suns booklet. This demo was recorded in Berlin.
